What I analyzed on 3/1/03 "Conventional Wisdom" What Happened
"The Dow, the S & P and the NASDAQ are all in a base formation pattern." Wall Street gurus worry about the war with Iraq and reflect Greenspan's "geopolitical concerns" about deflation and the economy. In twelve weeks the Dow advanced more than 2000 points.

What I analyzed on 10/5/02 "Conventional Wisdom" What Happened
"The Dow is poised for a meaningful rally." The gurus on Wall Street were warning of the doom and gloom of the October month. (The 1987 and 1929 crashes took place in October.) The Dow advanced for eight weeks in a row for a total of 1,800 points.

What I analyzed on 9/22/01 re: 9/11/01 What the Chief Economist of Merrill Lynch analyzed a month and 4 days later (10/26/01) re 9/11/01 What Happened
"New Reality"

"First of all, there is no need to panic. The only super power in the world will be able to handle some rag-tag terrorists."

"New Realities"

"In the nearer term, Merrill Lynch's Chief Economist Bruce Steinberg thinks the immediate risk remains on the downside."

The Dow went from 8,000 to 10,600 - a 2,600 point gain.
